[Having woken up by his lonesome in the middle of the forest, Birdy has taken to the skies to try finding his missing comrades from above. When that proves fruitless, he touches down in the village proper in order to interrogate a resident.

That resident may very well be your character, and they will be greeted with a rather brusque:]

Oi, where the hell is this place?

[Later, after having learned the basics of Luceti from someone, he'll fumble around with the journal.]

Is this thing on? Shout, Shirobon -- you guys out there? Bongo? Gangu? ...Professor?

[And while waiting for replies, he'll be flipping back through the more recent entries to see what else he can find out about his current predicament.]

You mean this thing?

[Birdy takes out his journal from inside a pocket in his vest.]

It's just the way this world works. My significant other had been here for a year before I arrived. Not everyone you know is taken, sometimes it's one at a time, sometimes it's many. I don't know if anyone knows how that works.

Yes, experimentation. [He'll even do you a service, Birdy. He'll turn around and point to his barcode on his neck.] You've got one too, you know.

[But, turning back around-] I couldn't tell you what planet this is, nor can anyone else here. And you can forget the spaceport. You're stuck here, just like the rest of us.

Yep. Right now you're in the central village area of Luceti, but it's about...three days travel to the outer area of the barrier. I actually think the Malno-nos super duper reinforced it recently, too, so it's way harder to pop. I mean, it was pretty much impossible to do it before, but I guess some dumb stuff's been happening around here with intruders or whatever and they've made it stronger.

[Norma shrugs. She only really skims the posts the Malnosso make. They always tend to rile her up in the worst possible way.]

Exactly that one! [And she points a finger at it, to poke it too] This journal will have plenty of information for you to learn more specifics. But to start, you're on a different planet and probably in a different dimension from wherever you were before. You're also inside an enclosure.

I see... The "guide" I read did say something similar. How long have you been here for?

[With narrowed eyes, Birdy reaches around to the back of his neck. His fingers catch the shallow ridges of the barcode tattooed onto his skin.]

The hell?! Who did this?

[How had he not been woken up by it?]

I see.

[He continues reading for a little bit, but stops at the bottom of the first page.]

Can I borrow this for a while? I'll return it later if you tell me where I can find you.

[He wants to read through this and verify that barrier for himself.]

What planet is this, then?

[He's not addressing that dimensional bit just yet. Best to start with the simpler things.]

Only about four months, give or take. You didn't get yourself housing yet, did you?

[He crosses his arms as he chuckles lightly at Birdy's reaction.]

Why, our captors of course. Didn't you know, we get to play as little lab mice for them. And that's not all.

Uh...well, I can't really let you borrow mine for too long. I mean, these things are pretty much what everyone here communicates with. You have one yourself! ...Somewhere. [He must have left it behind when he woke up, wherever he woke up when he got dumped here...] But don't sweat that too much, okay? These things have a real habit of showing up when you least expect it. Especially if you don't want 'em to.

But if you really need it, I guess I can lend it out. But you'll oooowe mee~! You can bring it back to the bar. Uh...Good Spirits! If I'm not there, just leave it and tell whoever's working it's for Norma.

We don't actually know the name of the planet, but this enclosure is called Luceti.

No. I don't like staying in one place, though.

[It was why he never kept a permanent residence on Jetters Planet. Well, that, and rent prices were ridiculous.]

What do you mean?

[Is Mechadoc behind this? This doesn't seem like Mechadoc's style, though.]

[Birdy frowns. He doesn't remember seeing a book nearby him when he woke up. Where had he woken up? He'd have to go check that out.]

Norma, huh? I see. Thanks.

[And he turns and flies off again.]

[Birdy stops by Good Spirits later that night, looking for Norma. He managed to find his own journal out in the forest, or at least he's assuming it's his journal. If he doesn't spot Norma right away, he'll go take a seat at the bar counter.]

How could you not know what the name of this planet is?

[Well, to be fair, Luceti did look pretty remote, but...]

If that's so, what are you planning on doing for a living space? There's not much else besides the village, the forest, and the mountain range.

I mean exactly what I said. They do whatever they want to us, and on top of it we get to fight their battles for them. [The next sentence is dripping in sarcasm and mockery.] But, I suppose it's not so bad, living in this cage for free, letting us do as we see fit until the time comes where we're forced to do their bidding. It's quite the life- I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

[He's sure he couldn't make his disgust for Luceti more clear; Vegeta hates this shit as much as anyone else.]

Because people were just taken here and we've been deliberately misinformed about a lot of things over the years.

[Norma actually appears from the back room a few minutes after Birdy takes a seat, balancing a platter of drinks and food on her forearm. After depositing it to the correct table with a smile, she bustles around taking orders and checking up on customers before she arrives at his table. As usual, her smile is plastered on her face, though this time around, it seems a little more genuine.]

Yo, Tweety! Didn't think you'd actually you'd show up. That one mine? [She indicates the journal he's got.]

[Normally he'd just stay in his taxi, but as far as he could tell, it was nowhere to be found.]

Is winter coming soon here?

[He noticed it was rather brisk, but it could just be a temporary cold spell.]

[This is not the taxi lyfe that Birdy prefers living, that's for sure.]

Are the Hige Hige Bandits behind this, then?

[Years? Birdy doesn't like the sound of that.]

Yeah? How long have you been here for?

Yeah. [He slides it over to her.

Then, after another moment:] The name's Birdy.
