[Having woken up by his lonesome in the middle of the forest, Birdy has taken to the skies to try finding his missing comrades from above. When that proves fruitless, he touches down in the village proper in order to interrogate a resident.

That resident may very well be your character, and they will be greeted with a rather brusque:]

Oi, where the hell is this place?

[Later, after having learned the basics of Luceti from someone, he'll fumble around with the journal.]

Is this thing on? Shout, Shirobon -- you guys out there? Bongo? Gangu? ...Professor?

[And while waiting for replies, he'll be flipping back through the more recent entries to see what else he can find out about his current predicament.]

In that case, have you seen a young bomberman walking around, or a girl with pink hair?

[The first one is...oddly specific, and the second one could be anyone.]

I'm pretty sure there's more than one girl around here with pink hair, but I can't say I've seen a...bomberman. [What is that supposed to be...?]

[It's kind of Exactly What It Says On the Tin. Except not, when it comes to appearance. But Birdy is used to everyone knowing what a bomberman is or looks like in his universe, so he's assuming that's the case here.]

The girl I'm looking for has short hair. The pink's not very bright; more like mauve, I guess.

[...which would probably technically make her hair more of a purple shade by Wikipedia standards, but whatever.]

Ah, I'm afraid that's not ringing any bells. I hope you find her though, though there's a good chance she's not here. [Stupid Luceti.]

[Was Birdy the only one taken? No one's answering his badge calls, so his immediate assumption is that they're way out of range. But he won't rule out the possibility that they're either knocked out somewhere or might not even have access to their badge.]

It's just the way this world works. My significant other had been here for a year before I arrived. Not everyone you know is taken, sometimes it's one at a time, sometimes it's many. I don't know if anyone knows how that works.

Suit yourself. You'll see. [No, it's not Hell, but sometimes it can really feel like it. Until he remembers what actual Hell is, and then it's sort of not so bad.]

[Birdy is giving Vegeta the dirtiest look right now, man. Also there's some bewilderment because the fuck you sayin', bro, but mostly he's just irritated.]

[He gets a small enjoyment out of being glared at like that. So he shrugs and smirks.]

I'm saying when you get abducted for experimentation, that they'll most likely bring you back here like that. It seems fitting, after all. [At least he's not...lying, right?]

Experimentation? [This didn't look like a laboratory to him.] Look, I just want to know what planet this is and where the nearest spaceport is.

[Despite saying that, the woman is clearly excited about this bird person landing in front of her. She starts to circle around him to get a good look at everything]

[His slightly bewildered gaze follows Haruhi as she inspects him.]

That's natural, right? And it's not just a mask or anything, right?

[In fact, just to confirm, she's going to try to poke his beak]

[Swatting her hand away and jumping back.]

Cut that out! Where am I?

[He's not even bothering with answering her other question. u weird, gurl]

[ W O W she is not weird you can't swat her away-- okay no he can because she's a bird thing. But she rocks back and recoils her hand, frowning]

You're in Luceti. Did you get that introduction yet?

[Birdy folds his arms and glares expectantly at her. Start explaining, Haruhi, he hasn't got all day or so he thinks.]

[Norma has to kind of jump back a little when something...one(???) suddenly swoops down from the sky like that. At first she assumes it's Marco in his bird form, so she smiles, but her smile turn to a confused look when she actually gets a good look at the...thing. She looks up at the sky, half expecting more people to suddenly rain down or something.]

Huh...guess some new feathers're still popping up. [Ahem.] And this hell place is Luceti - welcome abroad, you're here for the long run.

[He narrows his eyes a little.]

"Luceti"? What planet is this? And what do you mean, I'm here "for the long run"?

[Action]

[Oh no. Ooooh no. Not this time - Norma is so done with explaining Luceti to other people. It's always a bad thing, and instead Norma holds up one finger, fishes through her bag, and produces her journal. After flipping through it to find the Guide, she holds but the little book to the bird person creature...thing. Guy? She thinks it's a guy.]

It's a long story, so get to reading. Condensed version is yoooou've been kidnapped by crazy weirdo scientists and you can't get out. Hence "long run".

[Birdy frowns at the journal for a second before he takes it from her and skims the text. It doesn't take long before something stands out to him.]

Barrier?

[He looks up and around, slightly perplexed. It doesn't look like they're in a barrier...]

Yep. Right now you're in the central village area of Luceti, but it's about...three days travel to the outer area of the barrier. I actually think the Malno-nos super duper reinforced it recently, too, so it's way harder to pop. I mean, it was pretty much impossible to do it before, but I guess some dumb stuff's been happening around here with intruders or whatever and they've made it stronger.

[Norma shrugs. She only really skims the posts the Malnosso make. They always tend to rile her up in the worst possible way.]

[He continues reading for a little bit, but stops at the bottom of the first page.]
