1st Flight ✈ action/voice
[action]
[Having woken up by his lonesome in the middle of the forest, Birdy has taken to the skies to try finding his missing comrades from above. When that proves fruitless, he touches down in the village proper in order to interrogate a resident.
That resident may very well be your character, and they will be greeted with a rather brusque:]
Oi, where the hell is this place?
***
[voice]
[Later, after having learned the basics of Luceti from someone, he'll fumble around with the journal.]
Is this thing on? Shout, Shirobon -- you guys out there? Bongo? Gangu? ...Professor?
[And while waiting for replies, he'll be flipping back through the more recent entries to see what else he can find out about his current predicament.]

"Luceti"? What planet is this? And what do you mean, I'm here "for the long run"?
[Action]
It's a long story, so get to reading. Condensed version is yoooou've been kidnapped by crazy weirdo scientists and you can't get out. Hence "long run".
[Action]
Barrier?
[He looks up and around, slightly perplexed. It doesn't look like they're in a barrier...]
[Action]
[Norma shrugs. She only really skims the posts the Malnosso make. They always tend to rile her up in the worst possible way.]
[Action]
[He continues reading for a little bit, but stops at the bottom of the first page.]
Can I borrow this for a while? I'll return it later if you tell me where I can find you.
[He wants to read through this and verify that barrier for himself.]
[Action]
But if you really need it, I guess I can lend it out. But you'll oooowe mee~! You can bring it back to the bar. Uh...Good Spirits! If I'm not there, just leave it and tell whoever's working it's for Norma.
[Action] timeskipping here but let me know if that's not kosher
Norma, huh? I see. Thanks.
[And he turns and flies off again.]
***
[Birdy stops by Good Spirits later that night, looking for Norma. He managed to find his own journal out in the forest, or at least he's assuming it's his journal. If he doesn't spot Norma right away, he'll go take a seat at the bar counter.]
[Action] totes fine. |Db
Yo, Tweety! Didn't think you'd actually you'd show up. That one mine? [She indicates the journal he's got.]
[Action]
Then, after another moment:] The name's Birdy.
[Action]
Birdy? [How original... Norma likes her nickname better, sorry, and will continue to use it in reference to her new friend.] Right. Anyway, you want anything? I'm still on duty so I can't linger here too long, but I sure as heck can whip you up something nice. What'll ya have?
[Action]
okay no getting horribly obvious names is just what happens when you're a character in a kid's show.]
...Shochu is fine, if you've got any.
[Action]
Uh...I'll check to see what we've got, just a sec. Is sake okay if I can find what you want? I can bring out a few bottles and you can pick your favorite. Juuust a sec!
[Norma exits back to the stock room and, in a few minutes' time, she returns with a platter of four bottles, some with actual Japanese characters on the label and some with readable characters.]
[Action]
Thanks.
[He probably shouldn't be drinking when there's some serious stuff he needs to get done, but at this point he does need to rest and regain his bearings. Tomorrow's another day and it's coming in a couple of hours, at which point he can decide what action to take.]
[Action]
Mmmmmhm... Lemme know how it is. I haven't tried a lotta the stuff around here, to be perfectly honest. Most of it isn't to my tastes, y'know? I can't stand the hard stuff that's got no flavor. [She's more a mixed drink kinda gal.]
[Action]
[Is that Birdy being casually sexist? Sorry, he can get like that sometimes.]
[Action] - 1/2
[Action] - 2/2
Oooh, then you don't wanna drink this. I mean, if you're a man, then what you want is a completely different drink! Let me get you something that'll cater to your manly tastes...
[SHE'S BRINGING OUT THE ROMULAN BLUE, YOU ENORMOUS COCK.]
[Action]
Hey! What's the big idea?
[Action]
Oooh...you don't want this girly drink~! You want something real men drink! Something strong, with a real kick! A man's drink, since you're big strong man, after all~! Don't you wanna show me how big and buff you are? For that, you need [She plucks a bottle off a tray being carried by another server. Still with her smile, Norma smacks the bottle down hard on the table.] is this~!
Romulan Blue ale.
[Action]
I've never heard of this before.
[Action]
[Action] 1/2
But he can't figure out a way to get out of this with his image intact. He lacks Mighty's gifts of 1) somehow managing to say just the right thing at the right time without any apparent effort at all most of the time and 2) not caring whenever he ends up failing at the first. He is also mightily lacking a Mighty at the moment
for moral supportto tell him that this is not one of the best ideas he's ever had. Damn it.So, fine then. If he's going to hell, he'll go there at top speed.
Just to be even more of a showoff, Birdy actually takes the initial glass of shochu that Norma poured and downs it in a few big gulps. He wipes his beak off with the back of his hand before pouring himself a helping of Romulan Blue. And then -- before he has another chance to back down from the challenge -- he downs that Romulan Blue too.]
[Action] 2/2 dammit I don't have proper icons for this moment
JUMPING TAP-DANCING BANDITS IT'S LIKE HE SWALLOWED A MILLION LASER BEAMS
oh god oh god why did he go through with this at least he didn't place any bets on the outcome but oh god
suddenly a nuclear explosion of respiratory issues COUGH HACK WHEEZE CROAK don't mind Birdy doubled over with his eyes tearing up ok ok he's fine. really]
[Action] /CRACKS UP AT THE GIF
Though finding cure for Norma's hysterics will be a hell of a lot harder. She is hanging onto the table for support, laughing and snickering at holding a hand to her mouth to smother her laughter. A few of the other bar-goers are shaking their head and pointing at the bottle and then the poor victim, snickering behind their hands as well. Poor guy got baited big time.]
[Action] I need to use gifs more often in my tags, clearly
